Powerful Websites For Ordinary People!

In a world of technical jargon and concepts I could barely comprehend, the thought of building a website and have it amount to anything was literally non-existent. That all changed when I was exposed to some very basic website concepts that could help just about anyone realize the internet’s potential and how they could go about creating an effective website capable of generating serious income!

FORGET ABOUT THE GLITZ!

Most of us non-techies see a plethora of stunning sites that we could no more conceive of let alone put together with a language beyond our comprehension ability. However, you don’t need “glitz” to create a viable site. What you do need is traffic. Focus your time and efforts in learning how to generate traffic and your site will in time become the most beautiful site of all… one that actually pays you!

When you value function over form, you’ll find your focus turning from a great-looking site to a traffic-generating site. Which would you prefer… a beautiful site that astounds the few visitors that happen to come across it… or a less exciting site that draws scores of visitors because its consistently comes up in searches for sites in its subject area?

LEARN HOW TO USE KEYWORDS & LINKS!

Everybody knows how the value that keywords play in getting search engines to discover your site… but not so many are able to write content for their sites that appeal to the logarithms search engines like Google and Yahoo use in determining which sites show up in their search results. Learn to write for search engines as well as for your “human” visitors and you’ll find your site attracting more and more visitors over time.

More and more, one’s ability to write good content and to acquire or create in-pointing links to their sites is becoming the skill of choice rather than the old “code-writing gurus” that until now dominated the world wide web. Some of the most successful web owners out there are your “stay-at-home” moms with neither a technical background nor the opportunity to get out of the house for much of the day… or folks with nothing more than a passion for a particular subject or activity.

APPRECIATE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WEBSITE AND A BLOG!

While the ease and absence of cost makes it tempting to choose a blog as your online presence, remember that the highly dynamic nature of the blogosphere makes it imperative to keep posting or face sinking into oblivion. The fact that website search engines look more for content and popularity vs. new information makes it in my opinion the preferred choice for web income opportunities in the long run.

Whether you choose a blog or website, remember that your biggest investment is your time. A website is more likely to enjoy a cumulative effect as you develop permanent content and in-pointing links. That is the secret to passive income when after awhile you can step back from your site and actually traffic increase while your efforts decrease!

BUILD UPON SOMETHING YOU LOVE!

Probably the biggest concept I learned was to create my own website around something I loved. That way, I was able to generate a lot of content for my site, content I didn’t mind preparing due to my genuine interest in the subject matter. Eventually, you’ll find, your content will attract visitors to your site. And that traffic represents folks with the greatest potential to purchase a product or service you’d like to sell!

Even if you don’t have a product or service to sell, you’ll soon discover numerous businesses looking for the folks your site is attracting and you’ll be able to capitalize on that through affiliate marketing or pay-per-click advertising… but that’s a subject for another day.
