Paypal offers one of the easiest methods to accept credit cards online.

Paypal Buy Now buttons

Buy Now buttons are suited for online purchasing of single products or events. The customer simply clicks ‘buy now’ and purchases that particular item.

The buy now button can be configured to allow the customer to choose from a variety of options before placing their order. For example if they are purchasing a ticket for an event you might want the customer to select their date & venue when placing their order, likewise if they are ordering a product you may want them to select their required size or colour.

You also have the option to set a delivery fee for the item.

Paypal Shopping Cart

The Paypal shopping cart offers is a simple shopping cart solution without all the bells & whistles of a fully featured ecommerce software. It’s is ideally suited to you if you are selling a few products or tickets to events etc.

The Paypal Shopping Cart differs from the ‘Buy Now’ button in that it allows the customer to order more than 1 product. Your customer can add each item they want to order to their cart and then click checkout to complete their order.

For each product you can define relevant options for the customer to choose from (as described above, eg. size or colour). You can also set a flat rate delivery fee per order.

Paypal Recurring Subscriptions

Recurring subscriptions allows customers to subscribe to your product or service. For example you may have a paid membership site where customers are charged $25 Per month to access.

With recurring subscriptions Paypal will continue to charge the customer the nominated fee until such time as the customer cancels their subscription, or you can define a set period that the subscription is valid for (eg. 12 months).

We can configure a simple ‘Subscribe’ button for your website or integrate Paypal subscriptions into more advanced processes like paid membership to your website or even a paid opt-in to an E-Course automated through email marketing.

Paypal Donate

Suitable for non-profit organisations or charities the paypal donate button allows people to make donations and pay through paypal. To donate they simply enter the amount the wish to donate and click the donate button.

We can also set-up a facility for people to make a monthly pledge to your organisation over a set period of time.

Paypal Gift Certificates

Allow customers to purchase gift certificates from your website. The person who receive the gift certificate anytime they make a purchase to you via Paypal. (an obvious note: if you have a buy gift certificate facility you should also have a facility for people to buy products or services on your website).

Who should use Paypal?

Paypal is excellent for newly established businesses who may struggle to get approval for a merchant account without any past trading history.

It is also an excellent option if you don’t have a high volume of sales, or if your sales are irregular as there is no set monthly fee to pay.

If you make frequent sales you may find the transaction fees through Paypal can add up and switching to a real-time payment processor could reduce the amount you pay in transaction fees. However it is good to still offer Paypal as a secondary payment option.
